Tecumseh, MI, Jan, 2015: 2016 will mark the 25^th anniversary of the iconic ididit Car Show and Open House, and anticipation is already building after the company released an online video Wednesday highlighting the 2015 show.  Started in 1991, the annual ididit Car Show and Open House draws attendees from all over Michigan, the surrounding states and Canada as a thank you to the customers and a last chance to see the area’s best hot rods before tucking them away for winter.

The 2015 show was held on October 3^rd, and nearly 400 cars were on display for the free event, including trucks, hot rods, street rods, muscle cars and lead sleds, despite the rainy weather. Specialty vehicles were also on display inside the facility. The company recently released an online video on their YouTube channel which highlights some of the vehicles at the 2015 car show, as well as a list of the winners.

But the annual ididit Car Show and Open House isn’t just about showcasing some of the area’s most beautiful vehicles. The company gives attendees a chance to tour the entire facility and see machine demonstrations throughout the day. For the last two years ididit has partnered with the Lenawee Country Humane Society to raffle off a custom golf cart featuring an ididit steering column. All proceeds benefit the humane society, which provides shelter and medical care for stray and unwanted animals in Lenawee County. The National Street Rod Association is also on site to conduct free safety inspections. Attendees enjoy lunch and breakfast served by the Knights of Columbus while a DJ plays everyone’s favorite oldies all day. 

“We want to show our appreciation for the community,” Megan Lunsford of ididit said. “The car show and open house is a great way to say thank you and invite the community to see what we do here at ididit.”

We are so excited that show season is back!  We were lucky to be able to make it up to the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona this January.

We also attended Good Guys Del Mar Nationals as a vendor and Trueline’s 30th Annual Hot Rod Galore Show.

Our last events of the year were the memorials on November 13th and 15th for Bob McCoy.  We were impressed with the turnout and glad we were able to be a part of celebrating the life of such an important figure in hot rod culture.

This is a slow time of year for us so there’s not much more on the news front. We would like to wish everyone happy holidays!

We will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but if you have a project here at the shop and would like to come and visit, we should be here any other days!

We don’t have any new projects but we have a full shop here and are making great progress on all of them.  We have a few that are just about ready for delivery.  We’ll take pics and post those as they go for you to see!

Happy Holidays everyone!

October has been a month of travel around here! Our last trip of the month was to Hot Rod Reunion at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California.  Butch, one of our auto restoration specialists, fulfilled a life long dream of running his Willys down the quarter mile. This was our favorite event of the year, make sure you mark your calendar for next year, you don’t want to miss it!

 
We would like to express our sadness at the passing of Bob McCoy. We will be attending two memorials commemorating Bob’s life and work.

Our newest project is a classic collision repair.  Despite the unfortunate circumstances, and the damage, it’s a beautiful car and we are excited to be able to restore it to it’s previous condition for the owner.  Follow the car’s progress in our 1951 Ford Woodie gallery.

Our 10th Anniversary Car Show & Tech Fair was a success! We had a ton of fun at our car show and were happy to be able to raise some money for Carlton Oaks School who was gracious enough to host the event for us.  We’d like to thank Rob Miller of Rob Miller Customs and Armando from 3M Automotive for being a part of our tech fair.  We’d also like to thank Steve at San Diego Gear & Axle for bringing his dragster out and give thanks to all our friends, employees, and customers for showing your support!
